Continuing in 2022, Spirits of Chaco Canyon, originally emerged from my advanced studies and experimentation with shapes and colors in my Kachina Mask series. I wanted to move into greater abstraction while retaining some of the basic imagery of  Native American kachina masks.  And I wanted to advance my study of the color combinations developed over of a couple of years.  While painting these new images, I imagined that they looked like Spirits that emerged from the ancient history of Chaco Canyon.
